WHY do they call certain facial wrinkles ';laugh lines';, when there's nothing to laugh about?

the surgeon who gets to operate on them will be doing the laughing.WHY do they call certain facial wrinkles ';laugh lines';, when there's nothing to laugh about?
lolWHY do they call certain facial wrinkles ';laugh lines';, when there's nothing to laugh about?
because u get them from laughing
I digress,

They look pretty funny from here.
They prove you have been laughing and have a good sense of humour about life.
Everything needs its name, and no ones come up with anything more clever. A wrinkle is a wrinkle is a wrinkle!
i think they're funny
dont confuse age with beauty
Obviously, there's something to laugh at because that's how you get them.
because this is the part of your face that wrinkles when you laugh
Good question, now where is that friggin paper bag I put over my head before I venture out.......
because u get em from laughin and smilin alot

i guess
Because they get there from you smiling or laughing....
some just think ti is funny but i like ur Q
There may be something to laugh about. It just depends on which side of the wrinkles you are on.
because when you smile and laugh, you can really notice those wrinkles
you just said it when theres nothin to laugh about retorical ?
If you smile or laugh, you'll see those lines around your cheeks and eyes regardless of your age. It's just that when you get older, they are there whether you are smiling or not. ;)
When you laugh or smile or smoke, etc., after years you develop facial lines that are permanent, from those very activities.
When you smile, your face makes wrinkles. By the time you're old, those wrinkles usually kind of stay there, even when you're not smiling or laughing, hence the term ';laugh lines.';
Because you get laugh lines around your mouth
I think because there are in places that standout (and wrinkle) when a person is laughing.

I have a few around my eyes . . .
The same lines show up when you smile. And when you're laughing, a smile is always present.
